[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] It is heard that Apple has reduced shipments of its mixed reality (MR) headset "Vision Pro," which had been expected this year, to half of its original estimate.

According to industries on the 25th, TF International Securities, which is familiar with Apple, said Apple has reduced its Vision Pro shipments forecast for this year from 700,000 to 800,000 units to 400,000 to 450,000 units. Currently, Vision Pro has been released only in the United States, and demand in the United States has dropped rapidly.

Apple is expected to launch Vision Pro in countries other than the United States ahead of the World Developer Conference (WWDC) on June 10. However, it is said that the demand is conservative. Apple expects demand for Vision Pro to decrease further next year.

The reasons for the sluggish sales of Vision Pro are the lack of killer content, high prices of $ 3,499 (about KRW 4.79 million), and uncomfortable wearing. Existing virtual reality (VR) devices are not sold much, but at least there are successful game apps and visibility is better than MR.
