[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] McDonald's Korea recorded sales of KRW 1.292 trillion last year, the highest sales since it entered Korea.

McDonald's sales in Korea rose 12.4% year-on-year to 1.118 trillion won last year. This is the first time that direct sales have exceeded KRW 1 trillion. Operating losses fell 27 percent on-year to 20.3 billion won. Net loss fell 12% to 31.9 billion won.

Total sales, including franchises, reached 1.292 trillion won, surpassing 1 trillion won for the third consecutive year, marking the highest sales.

McDonald's Korea explained that it has achieved double-digit sales growth by focusing on customer-centered activities and investment despite rising costs such as prices of raw materials and delivery fees.

McDonald's Korea aims to operate 500 stores by 2030. Last year, it opened eight new stores and refurbished nine.
