[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] On the 25th, Oh Se-yoon, head of the Naver branch of the Chemical Fiber Food Union under the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, reiterated this stance during an urgent debate titled "The Butterfly Effect of the Line Diplomacy Catastrophe" held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul. The debate was hosted by lawmakers Ha Min and Kim Jun-hyung of the People's Innovation Party and Kim Yong-man and Lee Yong-woo of the Democratic Party of Korea.

Oh stated, "The issue of selling Line Yahoo shares is clearly a situation where we are fighting on an uneven playing field. Due to the government's indifference and neglect, over 2,500 South Korean citizens are facing job insecurity and the fear that the services and technologies they have worked hard to create may be taken away. The government's attention is urgently needed."

He also appealed to Naver's management and Lee Hae-jin, Naver's Global Investment Officer (GIO) and the representative of A Holdings (the major shareholder of Line Yahoo). "If a decision to sell is made based solely on political pressure and immediate managerial losses, not only the services but also the passion of the people involved will be lost," Oh said.

He warned, "This could ultimately result in Naver losing its future. If the reward for efforts to succeed in the global market is anxiety about the future, no one will be willing to embark on new attempts and challenges."

Furthermore, Oh expressed concern about the potential severing of ties between Line and its affiliates with Naver, noting, "There is a real concern that the technology and services that South Korean developers have accumulated over more than a decade could gradually be transferred to Japan."
