[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Taiwanese media outlets, including Liberty Times, reported on the 11th that President-elect Donald Trump is expected to attend the completion ceremony of TSMC’s Arizona fab next month, citing sources familiar with the matter.

According to the sources, Trump plans to be present at the completion of TSMC’s first production plant (P1) at Fab 21 in Phoenix, Arizona, in early December. Other prominent attendees include Apple CEO Tim Cook, Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang, AMD CEO Lisa Su, TSMC founder Morris Chang, and TSMC Chairman Mark Liu.

At the event, Trump may address topics related to the U.S. CHIPS Act, low-interest loans, and tariffs affecting TSMC, the sources added.

Additionally, Taiwan’s Minister of Economic Affairs recently informed the legislative body that the test production of TSMC’s Phoenix plant, which utilizes 4nm technology, has been "completely successful."

Following the ceremony, TSMC plans to commence full-scale production of 12-inch (305mm) wafers using 4nm technology at the Phoenix P1 plant. Mass production is scheduled to start in Q1 of next year.
