[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] LG Energy Solution announced on May 8 that it has completed the acquisition of all assets, including the building, of the Ultium Cells LLC Plant 3 located in Lansing, Michigan. The company disclosed the transfer of ownership in a regulatory filing, marking the transformation of the Lansing facility into LG Energy Solution’s third wholly owned battery plant in North America.

The Lansing plant, covering approximately 950,000 square meters, began construction in 2022 and is now more than 98% complete as of May 2025. Equipment installation is currently underway.

With this acquisition, LG Energy Solution now operates three wholly owned plants in North America—located in Holland and Lansing, Michigan, and in Arizona for cylindrical cells—alongside five joint venture plants.

This strategic move strengthens LG Energy Solution's manufacturing footprint in the region, reinforcing its position as a key player in the North American EV battery supply chain.
