[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul, June 30, 2025 — HYBE, the global entertainment company behind BTS, announced plans to establish a local subsidiary in India later this year, marking its fifth international base following the United States, Japan, China, and Latin America.

A HYBE spokesperson stated, “We are currently conducting market research and administrative preparations with the goal of launching the Indian entity by September or October 2025.”

India's music market, while still developing, is projected to grow to $780 million by 2027, according to a 2024 report from the Korea Creative Content Agency. Despite current infrastructure and spending limitations, India’s young population of 1.4 billion presents strong potential for long-term music business expansion.

The move is part of HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk’s strategic vision of “Multi-Home, Multi-Genre” expansion. This approach aims to export the K-pop production methodology — an integrated system of artist discovery, training, content production, management, and concert planning — to local markets while adapting to regional cultural nuances.

Chairman Bang has consistently emphasized the importance of adapting K-pop's proven business model to other music genres and markets to remain competitive globally. HYBE’s push into India reflects its ambition to create localized success stories using its signature artist incubation and global content strategy.
