[Alpha Biz= Kim Sangjin] The legal battle between NewJeans members and their agency ADOR, which is currently in the midst of an exclusive contract dispute, will officially begin on March 7.

According to The Daily Sports on Thursday, the Seoul Central District Court's 50th Civil Division will hold a hearing on March 7 regarding the injunction request ADOR filed against the five members of NewJeans, seeking to maintain their status as a planning agency and to prevent the signing of individual advertising contracts.

This hearing marks the first court procedure since NewJeans declared the termination of their exclusive contract with ADOR in November of last year.

In January, ADOR filed the injunction, aiming to stop the members of NewJeans from signing individual advertising contracts and engaging in independent activities. ADOR stated, "It is unfortunate that the members are attempting independent entertainment activities, such as holding a public contest for new activity names, before receiving legal judgment, which could constitute a serious breach of contract."

Previously, in December of last year, ADOR filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract, arguing that the contract was still valid. The hearing for this lawsuit is scheduled for April 3, 2025.

NewJeans, on November 28 of last year, held a press conference to announce the termination of their exclusive contract with ADOR and are currently pursuing independent activities. They have recently launched a campaign to choose a new name for their activities and have appointed Sejong Law LLC as their legal representative to prepare for the legal dispute with ADOR.
