[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] LS Electric has successfully completed its first Energy Storage System (ESS) power plant project in the UK.

On the 22nd of October (local time), LS Electric held a completion ceremony at the ESS construction site in Bottley, UK, attended by over 20 project stakeholders, including representatives from the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation, Shinhan Asset Management, and Shinhan Bank.

LS Electric won the contract for the Bottley ESS project in April of last year, with a project cost of approximately 133.4 billion won. The electricity generated in the Bottley area will be reliably supplied to the UK's National Grid transmission network through the ESS.

Leveraging its expertise in smart energy projects both domestically and internationally, LS Electric undertook the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) responsibilities for the project and will also manage integrated operations (O&M) for the next 20 years.

With the completion of this project, LS Electric plans to actively pursue opportunities in the European renewable energy market.
