[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul, South Korea — July 9, 2025 — Samsung Electronics has signed an agreement to acquire U.S.-based digital healthcare company Xealth, with the deal expected to be finalized within the year, according to industry sources on July 9.

The acquisition marks a significant step in Samsung’s strategy to build a connected care platform, a core component of the company’s Samsung Health vision. The goal is to seamlessly integrate wellness and medical care, allowing Galaxy users to conveniently monitor their health and even prevent disease through a unified digital ecosystem.

Through this acquisition, Samsung aims to link biometric data collected from Galaxy devices—including Galaxy Watch, smartphones, and the upcoming Galaxy Ring—with hospital medical systems in real time. The result will be a comprehensive remote healthcare platform covering prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care.

Xealth is considered a strategic fit for this vision. The company has developed a platform that enables healthcare providers to “prescribe” a range of digital health solutions based on patient needs and monitor biometric data accordingly. This aligns closely with Samsung’s connected care roadmap.

Xealth has also built a robust healthcare ecosystem in the U.S., partnering with more than 500 hospitals, including major healthcare groups, and collaborating with over 70 digital health solution providers focused on diabetes, pregnancy, surgery, and more.

Leveraging Xealth’s technology and hospital network, Samsung plans to establish a full-scale digital health ecosystem based on the flow of “smartphone/wearables → AI analytics → hospital integration.” This would support advanced features such as AI-driven biometric signal analysis, personalized health coaching, mental health chatbots, and integration with digital therapeutics (DTx).

By combining its existing hardware capabilities with software and platform expertise, Samsung is set to accelerate its strategy for ultra-personalized healthcare.

A key focus of the initiative will be on disease prevention. Samsung plans to further expand its digital health ecosystem to include integration with home appliances, ultimately providing more personalized and proactive care services to users.
