Jin Air Aircraft Takes Off After 50-Day Grounding at Muan Airport Due to Runway Closure

[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] A Jin Air aircraft, which had been grounded at Muan International Airport in South Jeolla Province due to a runway closure following a Jeju Air incident last December, finally took off after 50 days.


According to the aviation industry on Sunday, the Jin Air B737-800 aircraft (registration number HL8012), which had been parked at Muan Airport, departed for Gimpo Airport at around 12:20 PM on the same day.


The aircraft landed at Muan Airport approximately 10 minutes before a Jeju Air passenger plane accident occurred on December 29, 2023. Since the incident led to the runway's closure, the Jin Air aircraft had been unable to move until now.
