[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] A fire broke out on the morning of the 29th (local time) at the factory of CATL, the world's largest battery manufacturer, in China.


The fire occurred at a standalone building belonging to CATL in the Dongjiao Economic and Technological Development Zone, Ningde City, Fujian Province. The local fire and rescue department received the report at 11:26 a.m. and immediately initiated rescue and emergency response efforts. They have confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far.

Earlier, Chinese financial media outlet Caixin also reported the fire at CATL's Z Factory in Ningde. Photos shared by the media showed flames and thick black smoke rising from the site, although specific details about the damage were not disclosed.

By 3 p.m., the fire had been successfully extinguished, according to officials from Ningde's Emergency Management Bureau.
