[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] As the deadline set by NewJeans for Min Hee-jin's return to ADOR approaches, HYBE, the parent company, has officially stated that Min will not be able to resume her role as CEO during the remaining contract period with NewJeans.

On September 25th, HYBE announced that ADOR's board had resolved to convene a special shareholders' meeting to reappoint Min Hee-jin as an inside director. Earlier, on September 11th, ADOR had proposed that Min take on the role of producer for NewJeans for the next five years, which corresponds to the remaining term of the group's exclusive contract.

However, HYBE made it clear that ADOR's board is firm in its decision that Min will not return as CEO.

The conflict between Min Hee-jin and HYBE began in April over allegations of a "hostile takeover" and escalated in August when HYBE dismissed Min and appointed Kim Joo-young as the new CEO.

Following this, on September 11th, the five members of NewJeans—Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein—held an emergency live broadcast on YouTube, expressing their desire for the return of Min Hee-jin and the reestablishment of ADOR under its original leadership structure. They set a deadline of September 25th for HYBE to "restore ADOR" to its original state.

While ADOR had initially stated that Min would continue producing for NewJeans even after her dismissal, Min rejected the terms, citing unilateral dismissal and problematic clauses in the production contract, making her return to the role difficult.
