[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Following a fire at POSCO's Pohang steel plant that was extinguished after five hours early on the 10th, the police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
The Pohang South Police Station preserved the accident site and has requested the National Forensic Service to conduct an examination to determine the cause of the fire.
The National Forensic Service is expected to begin its examination at the fire site as early as the 11th.
Based on the findings from the forensic examination, the police and fire authorities plan to investigate whether there was any equipment malfunction, operator negligence, or damage caused by the fire.
