[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] CJ Logistics announced on the 20th that it will introduce a 7-day delivery system starting next year. Under the new system, delivery drivers will work a 5-day week without a reduction in income. This initiative was made possible through voluntary cooperation among key stakeholders in the courier industry, including CJ Logistics, agency representatives, delivery drivers, and labor unions.
The 7-day delivery service will be branded as “O-NE (On Every day).” Specific details will be finalized and announced in October following discussions among the stakeholders. The company stated, “Consumers will benefit from a wider range of e-commerce options, promoting healthy competition and leading to the overall growth of the industry and increased consumer benefits.”
Previously, CJ Logistics and the Agency Association made a “Joint Declaration for Courier Service Innovation” at the company’s headquarters, agreeing to collaborate closely on the introduction of new services. They plan to develop specific operational plans that take into account regional agency characteristics and operational environments.
On the same day, the Agency Association and the Courier Labor Union signed a mutual cooperation agreement at the Agency Association’s office. Both parties agreed to recognize each other as partners in mutual prosperity, committing to work together in the spirit of social consensus.
