Korean Air has begun wage and collective agreement

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Korean Air's labor and management will start the 2024 Wage and Collective Agreement. The Korean Air General Labor Union recently confirmed the wage increase rate for this year to be 7.1% based on the basic salary. It is about 246,000 won per month and 5,043,000 won per year based on manager level.


According to the airline industry on the 3rd, Korean Air's labor and management will hold a "2024 wage and collective agreement meeting." It plans to hold working-level negotiations once every two weeks, and the industry expects the negotiations to be completed as early as July.

In addition, the government plans to demand the establishment of a selective welfare system that pays 1 million won a year to those who have worked for more than 30 years and 400,000 won to those who have worked for less than five years, the provision of two international flight tickets for the marriage of their children, the abolition of the wage peak system and re-employment opportunities for all jobs when they retire from the retirement age.

A Korean Air union official said, "We will negotiate as soon as possible through talks with the company from April to May."

A Korean Air official said, "We are now at the beginning of a meeting between the families of the bride and the bridegroom," adding, "We will faithfully engage in negotiations."
