[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Dongwon Home Food has been fined 25.69 million won for exceeding expiration dates on refrigerated products during the process of converting imported livestock products from refrigeration to freezing.

On October 30, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced that Dongwon Home Food failed to complete the freezing process before the expiration dates of the refrigerated products had passed.

The Seoul Regional Food and Drug Administration (FDA) imposed a fine equivalent to a seven-day business suspension on Dongwon Home Food.

In response, a representative from Dongwon Home Food acknowledged a "human error" that occurred during the storage of imported beef, leading to incorrect expiration dates on some products. The company stated that it would make every effort to prevent similar incidents in the future.
