[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] GS Group held a meeting of overseas presidents in the United States to share its new business plans.

GS Group announced on the 1st that it held 'GS Overseas Presidents' Meeting' in Seattle for two days from the 29th of last month (local time). Chairman Heo Tae-soo, GS Retail Vice Chairman Heo Yeon-soo, GS President Hong Soon-ki, GS Energy President Heo Yong-soo, GS Caltex President Heo Se-hong, GS Engineering & Construction President Heo Yoon-hong, GS EPS President Chung Chan-soo, GS E & R President Kim Seok-hwan and GS Global President Lee Young-hwan participated. Unusually, executives in charge of digital transformation (DX) of GS Group's major affiliates were also present.

The meeting of presidents was held on the main agendas of 'Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI)' and 'Digital Innovation'. GS Group explained that with the development of AI technologies such as Chat GPT, it is necessary to understand it directly from the president in order to connect AI to business productivity and business innovation.

The president of GS Group also visited Big Tech in the United States and experienced cases where AI technology led to industrial innovation. As the first visit, I visited Microsoft (MS) headquarters to look at digital innovation cases and discussed with local experts on the theme of 'future of work' and 'AI and industrial innovation'. Amazon's cloud computing division, AWS, also visited and discussed ways to combine data and AI technologies to promote business collaboration as well as innovation.
