[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] On the 11th (local time), Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong had a one-on-one meeting with Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, at Zuckerberg's residence in Palo Alto, California. This meeting marks their first encounter in four months since their previous meeting in Korea back in February.

Samsung Electronics disclosed on the 13th that Chairman Lee was invited to Zuckerberg's residence for the exclusive meeting on the 11th (local time).

Their discussion focused on collaboration opportunities in future ICT industries such as AI, virtual reality, and augmented reality, following their initial meeting at Samsung's guesthouse, Seungjiwon, during Zuckerberg's visit to Korea in February.

Since their first meeting in 2011, Chairman Lee and CEO Zuckerberg have maintained a special relationship, having met a total of eight times as of now.

Zuckerberg has continued to nurture this relationship by visiting Samsung Research America in Mountain View, Silicon Valley, in October 2022, where he met with Samsung Electronics executives including Vice Chairman Han Jong-hee and President Roh Tae-moon to discuss collaboration opportunities.

Samsung Electronics and Meta are expected to further expand their cooperation in the AI field in the future.
