[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Lee Hae-jin, Chairman of Naver’s Board, will visit the United States next month to discuss the establishment of a new investment entity.
According to the ICT industry on the 17th, Lee is scheduled to attend an investment networking event in Silicon Valley in early June, where he will meet with Korean engineers and entrepreneurs.
This trip will mark Lee’s first official overseas engagement since his return at the March shareholders’ meeting. Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon and Kim Nam-sun, head of strategic investments, are also expected to accompany him.
During the visit, Lee plans to discuss the creation of a new local investment firm named ‘Naver Ventures.’ This new entity will be separate from Naver’s existing startup investment arm, Naver D2SF. Kim Nam-sun is reportedly the leading candidate to head the new company.
