A gold number is a number that has a specific pattern, such as 1111, 002, or 3000, or has the same number as the country code (1234-1234) or a specific meaning (1004, 1472). There are nine types of gold numbers that can be applied this time, and up to three can be applied per person.
Gold numbers are popular with customers because they are easy to remember and have a specific meaning. The most popular type of gold number draw last year was the ABCD-ABCD type, which had a competition rate of 2,138 to 1. On the other hand, some numbers in the form of ABAB were not applied. There are also numbers with a competition rate of one to one or less.
The gold number draw will be carried out in a random draw under the presence of a preferred number lottery committee composed of government agencies and related agencies such as the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Telecommunications Operators Association (KTOA).
SK Telecom has increased the number of gold number lottery events to 10,000 from this year. The number of numbers increased as the lottery events, which were held twice a year, were integrated into one. Customers who want the gold number can apply at SK Telecom's official certification agency and T-direct shop until July 9.
The results of winning the gold number will be available at SK Telecom's official certification agency and T-direct shop from July 14. Winning customers will be guided by individual text messages. Winning customers can register and use the winning number between July 17 and August 4.
