[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The Grimm Entertainment announced on November 11 that author Park Tae-joon's webtoon "Lookism" was the first Naver webtoon to reach 10 billion cumulative views.
The cumulative number of views of 'Lokkism' was 5.2 billion in Korea and 4.8 billion overseas, forming an independent base at home and abroad. "Rokis," which entered the overseas webtoon market for the first time in Indonesian and Thai in 2015, has been undisputed No. 1 in the daily popularity rankings since the beginning of the series.
Thanks to this popularity, it is being produced as a variety of secondary contents that utilize intellectual property (IP) such as games as well as books. Especially in December last year, it was released around the world as a Netflix series and achieved good results.
Up to the recently released 460th episode, it has been reborn as a flagship work of Naver Webtoons for about nine years, gaining popularity without a single break.
"'Rockism' was able to exceed 10 billion views thanks to the love of all the readers," said writer Park Tae-joon. "I sincerely thanks to the readers, and it is another momentum for my determination to show better work."
