[Apha Biz=Reporter Hyungjin Lee] In Korea, a global top-tier company in the semiconductor post-process field was born.
According to Alpha economic coverage on the 13th, Samsung Electronics has finalized Grooving (half-cutting) equipment for the advanced post-process of 5 nano or more as EO Technics's next-generation picosecond grooming equipment.
EO Technics's next-generation picosecond Grooving equipment was adopted in the first quarter of this year by TSMC, which is fiercely competing with Samsung Electronics in foundry.

"As the two major global semiconductors, TSMC and Samsung Electronics, have decided to use EO Technics grooming equipment, Korea has taken a global standard position in the next-generation advanced packaging area," said Yoon Joo-ho, CEO of Umbrella Research.
In the future, TSMC and Samsung Electronics will use EO Technics's picosecond grooming mass production equipment similar to hybrid bonding in the front-end process such as AI semiconductors instead of nanosecond Grooving equipment in Disco, Japan.
In this regard, neither Samsung Electronics nor EO Technics made any official statement.
