It has been two days since I visited the construction site of Lotte Chemical Petrochemical Complex in Cilegon, west of Java Island.

President Joko Widodo visited the 'HLI Green Power' battery cell plant in the Karawang Industrial Complex (KNIC) outside Jakarta on the morning of the 14th (local time).

HLI Green Power is a joint venture in which Hyundai Motor Group and LG Energy Solutions invested about $ 1.1 billion (about 1.5 trillion won) with a 50% stake.

President Joko Widodo said it was "very fast" about the fact that construction had started in less than two years, looking around the interior of the plant completed in May. He attended the groundbreaking ceremony for HLI Green Power in September 2021 despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
