Avaco supplies LG·GM joint venture equipment for 66.5 billion won

[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Avaco will supply secondary battery automation facilities to Ultima Cells’, a joint venture between LG Energy Solutions and General Motors (GM). It is expected that customers will benefit from investments in North America in earnest.

Avaco announced on the 14th that it has signed a 66.5 billion won contract with Ultium Cells. It is about 31% of last year's sales. The period is until February 28, 2025.

Starting with this contract, Avaco is expected to continue to win orders from global companies in North America.

Avaco's automation system has been used in display lines such as liquid crystal display (LCD) and organic light emitting diode (OLED) since its establishment in 2000. It has expanded its applications by supplying them to global battery makers in 2019.

Currently, Avaco is expanding its production capacity through its first and second plants in Gumi and its resident plants under construction. The total production of the three plants is over 600 billion won per year.
