[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] UK activist hedge fund Palliser Capital has reportedly secured more than a 1% stake in SK Square, the holding company of SK Hynix, demanding restructuring to enhance its stock value.

The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on the 15th (local time), citing sources familiar with the matter.

Specifically, Palliser has acquired over 1% of SK Square's shares over the past two years, positioning itself among the company's top ten shareholders.

Meanwhile, SK Square currently has a market capitalization of $8.5 billion (approximately 11.58 trillion KRW) and holds portfolio companies such as the AI chip manufacturer SK Hynix.

Notably, SK Square holds about 20% of SK Hynix, which is reported to be valued at over twice SK Square's market capitalization of $20 billion (approximately 27.26 trillion KRW).
