[Apha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Shinhan Investment & Securities' Home Trading System (HTS) and Mobile Trading System (MTS) have made the most errors among large securities firms in the past five years. It is pointed out that investor attention is needed as HTS·MTS errors can lead to losses.

A total of 25 computer failures occurred in Shinhan Investment & Securities' HTS·MTS from 2019 to July this year, according to data submitted by the Financial Supervisory Service. The number of errors occurred during this period is the highest among large securities firms with equity capital of more than KRW 5 trillion.

Errors in this stock firm have soared, especially in recent years. One case in 2019 → Three cases in 2020 → Four cases in 2021 → 10 cases in 2022, etc., and this year it was seven cases until July alone.

The second of the large securities firms is NH Investment & Securities, which suffered 19 computer failures during the period. However, errors in NH Investment & Securities have decreased from 6 cases in 2021 to 3 cases in 2022 and 1 case in January-July this year. Samsung Securities also saw its total number of cases fall to eight in 2021, four in 2022 and two in January-July this year, although the total number of cases was high during the period.

There are often postings on the online community that they suffered from system errors while using Shinhan Investment & Securities' HTS·MTS.
