[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Hyundai Engineering & Construction Consortium (Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Doosan Enerbility, POSCO E&C), which POSCO E&C participated in, made an announcement on the 3rd that it has been selected as the winning bidder for the Shin Hanul unit 3 and 4 construction facilities. It is the first time for POSCO E&C to participate in a commercial nuclear power plant project.

The ordering company, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., selected the Hyundai Engineering & Construction Consortium as the contractor for the construction of the Shin Hanul unit 3 and 4 nuclear power plant on the 30th of last month. The term "main facility construction" means the construction of civil engineering, construction, machinery, electricity, piping, measurement, etc. for major facilities of a nuclear power plant and the commissioning thereof. The construction period is about 115 months from April 2024 to October 2033. The total construction cost is about 2.8 trillion won.

Starting with the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Korea, POSCO E&C, which has unique technology and performance in the construction of nuclear-use facilities such as accelerators, plans to maximize synergy with Hyundai E&C, Korea's leading construction company with the completion of all old models, and Doosan Energy, which has the ability to manufacture and install as the only parking cycle supplier in Korea.
