[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] NCsoft goes to the co-representative system. NCsoft announced on November 11 that it has nominated Park Byung-moo, CEO of VIG Partners, a domestic private equity fund manager, as a co-representative candidate.

It is the first time since NCsoft introduced a co-representative system. Since its establishment in 1997, it has been operated under the sole representative system of founder Kim Taek-jin. The co-representative candidate Park is expected to focus on the stable management and growth strategy of the company.

NCsoft said it recruited CEO Park to accelerate its mid- to long-term 'Company Building (Company Building)' strategy. An official of the company said, "Since we have been developing games under CEO Kim Taek-jin's one-person system, we thought it would be better for a person who has know-how in investment and mergers and acquisitions (M & A) to represent NCsoft as a co-partner."

Candidate Park is a lawyer-turned-professional manager and is known to be an alumnus of high school (Seoul Daeil High School) and university (Seoul National University) with CEO Kim. Since 2007, he has served as an outside director of NCsoft and is currently on the board of directors as a non-standing non-executive director.

Born in 1961, he earned a bachelor's and master's degree in law from Seoul National University. He passed the 25th bar exam and entered the Kim & Chang law firm to become a lawyer. Since then, he has served as CEO of Plenus Entertainment, Representative of Texas Pacific Group (TPG) Asia (New Bridge Capital), Representative of Hanaro Telecom, and Representative of VIG Partners.

Candidate Park is scheduled to be officially appointed after a board meeting and a shareholders' meeting in March next year.
