[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] One January 5th, Naver announced that the company has created a new position for Strategy and Risk Management (RM) and appointed Yoo Bong-seok, VP of Service Operations, to a Chief Strategy and Risk Management Officer(CSRM).

Naver executed company-wide restructuring in the beginning of 2024. The current CEO Choi Soo-yeon will retain the position. Chae Sun-joo, Chief External ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Officer, and Yoo Bong-seok, CSRM, will co-share the responsibility of Naver's external communication.

Mr. Yoo will be in charge of public relations (PR), corporate relations (CR), strategy, legal affairs, and personal information. He worked as a Mail Business Daily journalist and joined NHN, the predecessor of Naver, in 2007.

He has been a VP of Service Operations since 2019 and was appointed to a CSRM this year. Due to the Mr Yoo's promotion and role change, the News Service Teams will be under the CEO's direct supervision.

In addition, Naver appointed Kim Bum-Joon, former CEO of Woo-ah han Brothers, to a Chief Operating Officer (COO). To get ready for the artificial intelligence era in the future, the company established a global 'Future AI Center' for safety research and responsible development. Teams in the center will be directly reporting to the CEO.
