However, Crew Union, Kakao's labor union issued a statement on Kakao's in-house bulletin board on the same day and criticized, "Mobility management has begun a personal inspection to shift the responsibility for the failure of the acquisition to employees through the ethics management office and the audit office, even though the activities of the management reform committee that put forward transparency and communication and the compliance and trust committee have begun."
"I am threatening to look into personal information unilaterally without setting a period, scope or purpose," he said. "The Freenow acquisition process was suspended by Kakao's Investment Committee procedure, but I was in a hurry to find out the situation where the article went out, and I started to treat a trusted employee like a suspect."
The union reportedly scrapped the employees' consent forms and demanded an apology from the company.
On the other hand, Kakao Mobility says there is nothing wrong with it.

"Recently, suspected information leaks have been detected, and we are also conducting a company-wide information security campaign to inform the importance of corporate information assets."
