Former FSS chief Chung Eun-bo has been recommended as the sole candidate for the new chairman of the Korea Exchange

[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Chung Eun-bo (63), former head of the Financial Supervisory Service, was recommended as the next chairman of the Korea Exchange.

According to the financial investment industry on the 19th, the Korea Exchange's recommendation committee for board members selected Chung as the sole candidate after screening and interviewing seven registered candidates.

The exchange will hold a board meeting sometime next week to decide on an extraordinary shareholders' meeting. The stock exchange shareholders' meeting is expected to hold a shareholders' meeting around the middle of next month to complete the process of appointing a chairman.
