[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] At a policy meeting for the development of the maritime defense industry conducted by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. on the 22nd, Hanwha Ocean said the drawing in question was not a submarine drawing of the former Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co.

Hanwha Ocean explained, "The drawings in question known to have been leaked are German submarine drawings imported by Indonesia from Germany in the late 1970s, which are not the submarine drawings of the former Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and do not constitute defense technology and military secrets."

"We will allow employees who leaked the company's secrets, including technology theft during the time of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, to be held strictly responsible, regardless of the present or the past," he said.

Meanwhile, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, the predecessor of Hanwha Ocean, is suspected of leaking drawings of the submarine 'DSME1400' ordered from Indonesia.

Police believe two former Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering employees moved to a submarine development consulting firm after stealing the drawings and leaked them.
