[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Starting with a meeting between labor and management on the 10th, the labor union of Samsung Engineering, which began wage negotiations in 2024, has prepared a request.
The labor union of Samsung Engineering came up with a request for a 5.4% increase in basic salary on the 22nd.
Until the third quarter of last year, Samsung Engineering posted an operating profit of about 723 billion won, up about 48% from the same period in 2022.
The request also included a 15 percent performance-based payment of pre-tax operating profit and a briefing session on the criteria and evaluation results of the performance-based payment.
Areas related to welfare included the expansion of refresh leave (2 days → 5 days), the payment of 1 million won in case of 100% of annual leave, the introduction of a one-hour annual leave system, and the expansion of the allowance for children's childbirth (300,000 won → 1 million won per child).
It also included a one-year extension of the wage peak system from the previous 57 to 58.
