Kakao Pay Insurance has demanded an official apology from Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, accusing them of imitating their enrollment process and interface.

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] Kakao Pay Insurance demanded an official apology, saying that the online product of overseas travel insurance, which was recently reorganized by Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, imitated its subscription process and screen.

Kakao Pay Insurance announced on the 27th that it has sent an official letter to Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance's CEO Lee Moon-hwa, saying, "It returns the Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance process, which copied Kakao Pay Insurance's mobile subscription process without permission, and requires a polite apology and measures to prevent a recurrence."

According to Kakao Pay Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance's overseas insurance products were originally organized in the order of "entry of date of birth and accompanying subscription - purpose of travel - guide of subscription - selection of subscription plan - entry of subscribers - mandatory inquiry-agreement of subscription design - confirmation of final subscription."

After the reorganization, the order was changed to "National Selection - Period Entry - Selection of Subscription Plan - Guarantee Design - Subscription Security Confirmation - Subscription Design Consent - Obligatory Question - Final Subscription Confirmation," which is 100% the same as the overseas travel insurance stage of Kakao Pay Insurance.
