[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] GS Engineering & Construction subsidiary GS Inima has won a contract to construct and operate a desalination facility worth 2.4 trillion won in Oman.

On the 12th, the Ministry of Environment announced that GS Inima had signed a contract in Oman securing the right to build and operate the "Oman Ghubra 3 desalination facility" for 20 years.

The project, which utilizes reverse osmosis technology, aims to supply 300,000 tons of potable water per day to the capital city of Muscat in Oman by 2027. GS Inima won the contract for this project back in December 2020.

Samsung C&T also secured the rights for the "Salalah H2 Green Ammonia Project," an annual 1 million-ton capacity green ammonia production facility in Oman, last year.
