[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] A temporary error occurred in KakaoTalk's messenger service 'KakaoTalk' on the afternoon of the 13th. Kakao found the error and took action immediately, and it was normalized from 1:50 pm.
According to Kakao, service failures occurred in some KakaoTalk mobile and PC versions for about six minutes from 1:44 p.m. There was a situation where the PC version of KakaoTalk was suddenly logged out or KakaoTalk messages could not be sent or received.
Some users complained of inconvenience and worried that KakaoTalk was 'dead' again. Kakao suffered a suspension of KakaoTalk service for more than 12 hours in October 2022 due to a fire at the SK C & C data center in Pangyo. In November last year, users were also dissatisfied with a temporary error in sending and receiving messages.
"During the internal system work, some users received messages and unstable PC logins for six minutes, and we completed the recovery immediately," a Kakao official said. "There are no other external causes."
