[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] It has been confirmed that Hanwha is closely working on localization with Samsung Electronics in the field of all-process equipment for DRAM.
According to the industry on the 14th, Hanwha Precision Machinery, an affiliate of Hanwha Group's semiconductor equipment, shipped atomic layer deposition (ALD) and plasma reinforcement phase deposition (PECVD) evaluation equipment to Samsung Electronics for the first time in January.
This equipment is placed in the state-of-the-art DRAM R & D (R & D) line of Samsung Electronics Semiconductor Research Institute. It is the first time that it has been confirmed that Hanwha Precision Machinery's full-process equipment has entered the leading chip maker line, as well as full-process equipment cooperation between the company and Samsung Electronics has been revealed.
It is expected that Hanwha's localization of all-process equipment will provide an opportunity for South Korea's material, parts and equipment infrastructure to take a leap forward.
From Hanwha Precision Machinery's point of view, cooperation with Samsung Electronics can also greatly help the company explore the market. Samsung Electronics is a company with an overwhelming market share and production capacity of more than 40% in the global DRAM market.
