The Asiana Airlines union has approved the tentative agreement for the 2023 wage negotiations.

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] The Asiana Airlines general union has approved the tentative agreement for the 2023 wage negotiations, which includes a 7.5% increase in base salary and 100% payment of safety incentive bonuses.

According to the airline industry on the 16th, the general union of Asiana Airlines held a vote on the tentative agreement from the 11th to the previous day. Out of 488 union members, 429 participated in the vote, with 387 voting in favor and 42 against.

Kwon Soo-jung, the chairman of the general union, commented on the approval of the agreement, stating, "We will focus all our efforts on preventing the disbandment and merger of Asiana Airlines."

Both parties have been in negotiations since the end of last year. The union had previously conducted a vote on a similar agreement at the end of April, which included a 7.5% increase in base salary and 100% payment of safety incentive bonuses, but it was rejected at that time.
