[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] Hyundai Motor's Sales Decline 1.4% Year-on-Year in July Amid Domestic and Global Weakness.

Hyundai Motor reported a slight decrease in overall sales in July due to weak performance in both domestic and international markets. The company sold a total of 332,003 vehicles worldwide last month, a 1.4% decrease compared to the same period last year.

In the domestic market, Hyundai sold 56,009 vehicles in July, marking a 2.6% decline from the previous year. Sales included:

Sedans: Grandeur (6,287 units), Sonata (5,532 units), and Avante (3,975 units) totaling 16,069 units.
Recreational Vehicles (RV): Santa Fe (5,248 units), Tucson (3,124 units), Kona (2,414 units), and Casper (3,425 units) totaling 17,986 units.
Porter: 5,177 units
Staria: 3,575 units
Mid-sized and large buses and trucks: 2,305 units
Genesis, Hyundai's premium brand, sold 10,703 units, with the G80 (3,143 units), GV80 (2,837 units), and GV70 (3,839 units).

Overseas, Hyundai's sales were 275,994 units, down 1.1% from the previous year.

Hyundai Motor attributed the decline to weakened demand due to high interest rates, intensified competition leading to increased incentives, and other uncertainties in the business environment. The company plans to strengthen its production and sales system to better align with local demand and policies and adapt flexibly to regional market changes.
