[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, South Korea, May 27, 2025 — CJ Logistics announced that it has increased its ownership stake in its Indian subsidiary, CJ Darcl, by 6%, bringing its total shareholding to 56%. The investment, valued at USD 32 million (approximately KRW 43.8 billion), is aimed at strengthening CJ Darcl’s capital base and accelerating the execution of its next-generation growth strategies.

The acquisition involved a combination of newly issued shares and the purchase of equity from existing shareholders. CJ Logistics stated that the funds will be strategically used for nationwide multimodal logistics infrastructure expansion, development of high-tech logistics terminals and smart warehouses, and advancement in digital supply chain solutions and alternative fuel-based transportation platforms.

CJ Logistics first entered the Indian market in 2017 through the acquisition of a 50% stake in Indian logistics company DARCL. The firm was later rebranded as "CJ Darcl" and jointly operated with the founding family, who still retain the remaining 44% ownership.

Since 2023, CJ Darcl has been pursuing an initial public offering (IPO) on Indian stock exchanges, signaling its growing ambitions in one of the world’s fastest-growing logistics markets.
