[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Smoke from Asiana Airlines' domestic flights caused disruptions, including a delay in the sequel.
According to the industry on the 9th, smoke was detected on Asiana Airlines flight OZ8913, which departed from Gimpo at 7:40 a.m. to Jeju International Airport. Smoke is said to have started from the auxiliary battery in the overhead bin (in-flight luggage locker).
At that time, the passenger plane was passing over Gwangju. The crew, who found the smoke, was reported to have immediately taken care of the fire. The move resulted in no significant damage to the 273 passengers on board. The plane also arrived at Jeju Airport as scheduled.
However, a delay was inevitable for the sequel. After arriving at Jeju Airport, Asiana Airlines took follow-up measures, including safety checks on the aircraft in question.
On the other hand, auxiliary batteries are classified as aviation dangerous materials and cannot be commissioned. Passengers have to board with it on board.
