[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] Prosecutors Conduct Large-Scale Raids on Tmon and WEMAKEPRICE Amid Ongoing Investigation

On August 1, prosecutors carried out extensive raids related to the Tmon and WEMAKEPRICE scandal involving delayed settlements and refunds. The Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office, which established a dedicated investigation team led by Chief Prosecutor Lee Jun-dong, executed raids on multiple locations just three days after forming the team.

The raids targeted three residences of Koo Young-bae, CEO of Qoo10 Group, and seven properties associated with Tmon and WEMAKEPRICE, including their headquarters. This action follows the Financial Supervisory Service's referral of the case to the prosecutors on July 26, highlighting the urgency of the situation.

The raids are part of an investigation into allegations of fraud and embezzlement, with the prosecutors reportedly detailing accusations of over 1 trillion won in fraud and approximately 40 billion won in embezzlement in their search warrants. This major development indicates a serious legal response to the ongoing issues at these e-commerce platforms.
