[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Taihan Cable & Solution has successfully secured a 190 billion KRW contract for cables and power grid materials in the United States. On the 25th, Taihan Cable & Solution announced that its U.S. sales subsidiary, T.E.USA, has signed a large-scale long-term contract worth 190 billion KRW in the eastern United States. This is the largest project Taihan Cable & Solution has secured in the U.S. to date.
Including this contract, Taihan Cable & Solution has achieved approximately 520 billion KRW in new orders in the U.S. this year alone. With this contract, the company has significantly surpassed its record annual cumulative order volume of 400 billion KRW from 2022 in just half a year since entering the North American market.
Taihan Cable & Solution will supply a full range of high-voltage power grid materials, including 138kV and 345kV cables and connectors, for a project to replace aging power grids with new ones to meet the explosively increasing power demand in the eastern United States. It is noted that over 50% of the underground power grids in the U.S. have surpassed the 40-year mark, making them due for replacement. The need to replace aging power grids is increasing due to the rapid rise in power consumption driven by advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors.
Earlier, at the end of last year, Taihan Cable & Solution secured a project in New York, showcasing products and patented new technologies specialized for replacing aging power grids.
