[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] Hanwha Group will invest an additional 360 billion won in Next Decade, a U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) developer.

Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 14th that it will secure a 6.83% (17,536,368 shares) stake in Next Arcade at 180.3 billion won. The company explained, "It creates strategic business synergy by expanding financial investment." Hanwha Ocean also invests in Next Decade. Hanwha Ocean decided to participate in the 363.3 billion won shareholder allocation paid-in capital increase conducted by Hanwha Ocean USA Holdings, a U.S. corporation. The fund will go to Hanwha Ocean USA International, a subsidiary of Hanwha Ocean USA Holdings. Hanwha Ocean USA International will use part of the fund to invest the same amount as Hanwha Aerospace to secure a 6.83% stake in Next Arcade.

This is not the first time Hanwha Group has invested in Next Decade. Hanwha Impact invested a total of 80 billion won twice in 2018 and 2022. Once the investment is completed, Hanwha Impact, Hanwha Aerospace, and Hanwha Ocean are expected to secure more than a 15% stake in Next Decade.
