[Alpha Biz= Reporter Paul Lee] Doosan is considering re-acquisition of hydraulic equipment manufacturer "Mottrol," which was sold three years ago.
Regarding the report on the re-acquisition of Mottrol for the first time in three years, Doosan Bobcat said on the 19th, "We are considering acquiring Mottrol, but nothing has been decided or confirmed so far."
He added, "We will re-publicize the details within a month or when they are decided later."
Mottrol operates a civilian sector that manufactures hydraulic devices for excavators and a defense sector that produces K9 self-propelled artillery turrets.
Earlier, Mottrol was acquired by Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction (currently Doosan Energy) in 2008 and became Doosan Mottrol, but was merged with Doosan in 2010 to become a Motroll business division. Since then, Doosan has physically divided its Mottrol division to normalize the management of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., which had been in a liquidity crisis, and sold it to a consortium of private equity fund Sociers PE- Well2C.
Doosan Bobcat is expected to take over only the private sector, excluding defense.
