[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] Emart recorded its lowest price since its listing in 2011.
As of 1:46 p.m. on the 12th, Emart is trading at 58,500 won, down 600 won (1.02%) from the previous day. The stock fell to a new low of 58,400 won during the trading session, marking its lowest level since its split re-listing in June 2011. Over the past year, the stock has dropped by 28.75%. The market capitalization has decreased by over 1 trillion won, from 22.663 trillion won to the current 16.037 trillion won.
Foreign investors have been net sellers of Emart shares for nine consecutive trading days, while institutional investors have been net sellers for six consecutive days. On this day as well, a selling trend from both foreign and institutional investors is being observed.
Emart experienced its first-ever deficit last year, with an operating loss of 459 billion won.
What remains to be seen is its performance. It is expected to report an operating loss in the second quarter due to the impact of voluntary retirements. However, there is analysis suggesting that it will achieve an operating profit of 1.114 trillion won in the third quarter.
