[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] KT has been selected as the telecom provider for supplying wireless communication (telematics) services to Hyundai Motor, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.

According to industry reports on the 26th, KT will once again provide wireless communication services for the connected car systems of these automotive brands starting next year. After a two-year gap, KT is regaining the role it had previously held for connected car services, which enable remote vehicle management and the use of driving data to prevent accidents. Hyundai offers the "Bluelink" service, Kia has "Kia Connect," and Genesis provides "Genesis Connected."

KT was the original telecom provider for Hyundai's connected car services but had been replaced by LG Uplus in the last two years. The switch back to KT was reportedly decided around March of this year.
