Korean National Pension Service's REIT Investments Yield 1.68 Trillion Won in 18 Years

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] The National Pension Service (NPS) has earned approximately 1.68 trillion won over 18 years through a real estate REIT (indirect investment vehicle) set up in partnership with Koramco Asset Management.

On the 25th, Koramco Asset Management announced that it will sell the final asset of the KOREP NPS No. 1 REIT (NPS No. 1), the Golden Tower in Samseong-dong, Seoul, to Singaporean asset management company Capitaland Investment Management on the 31st. Golden Tower is a prime office building located near Samsung Station in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, with a total floor area of 40,480.06 square meters (approximately 12,245 pyeong).

The transaction amount is approximately 440 billion won, and with this sale, NPS No. 1 will have recovered about 600 billion won in total, including approximately 200 billion won in capital gains.
