[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] The National Pension Service has decided to oppose the appointment of directors at the regular shareholders' meeting of SK Hynix and Hansae Industrial.

The National Pension Service voted against the appointment of Sohn Hyun-chul, an outside director, at SK Hynix's regular shareholders' meeting held on the 27th. Regarding the anti-voting event, the National Pension Service explained, "We believe that our independence as an outside director is undermined by our interests with the company."

The National Pension Service has also decided to oppose the appointment of Hansae Yes 24 Holdings Chairman Kim Dong-nyeong as an in-house director at the Hansae Industrial shareholders' meeting to be held on the 28th.

The National Pension Service said, "Chairman Kim opposes the board meeting because its attendance rate is less than 75% during the previous term." On top of that, he also decided to vote against Hansae Industrial's proposal to change the rules on the payment of executive severance pay, saying it did not disclose details.
