[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] SK ON dismissed Chief Business Officer (CCO, Chief Commercial Officer) Sung Min-seok.

According to the business community on the 19th, Sung Min-seok, vice president of SK ON, was dismissed from his position as CCO.

Sung is an expert who has been in the automotive industry for about 30 years. He served as CEO (CEO) of Hanon Systems after Ford and was hired by SK On in August last year. At that time, SK ON established CCO and placed marketing, purchasing, and project management (PM) departments under its wing.

SK ON recorded an operating loss of 331.5 billion won in the first quarter of this year, and sales of 1.6836 trillion won is half that of the first quarter of last year. Interest costs alone reached 178 billion won in the first quarter. In this situation, facility investment (CAPEX) amounted to about 7.5 trillion won this year. Blue Oval SK, a joint venture between SK On and Ford, recently decided to increase its capital by 810.1 billion won. It is for battery factory construction.

It should also be listed (IPO). SK ON promised to go public with investors at the end of 2026. However, corporate value does not meet the target. In 2022, SK ON was recognized for its 22 trillion won corporate value in free IPO (equity investment before listing).

SK On recently appointed a vice chairman.

As of the 10th, SK ON appointed Yoo Jung-joon, vice chairman of SK America's foreign cooperation, as the new vice chairman of SK ON. Choi Jae-won, senior vice president of SK ON, moved to senior vice chairman of SK Innovation.
